NSB Beach Multi-use Trail
The New Smyrna Beach Multi-use Trail is a 2.2-mile, 12-foot-wide asphalt path that stretches from West Pine Avenue to Sugar Mill Drive in New Smyrna Beach. Services included:
• Jurisdictional wetland delineation
• Environmental resource permitting assistance (State and Federal)
• Protected species transect surveys
• Gopher tortoise burrow surveys
• Gopher tortoise relocation permitting
• Supervised the backhoe excavation of burrows and off-site relocation of gopher tortoises
• Mitigation design and construction supervision
• Monitoring for compliance with State permit
Lake Wales Municipal Airport
This municipal airport project was for improvements to the Runway Safety Areas (RSA) and Runway Object Free Areas (ROFA) of Runway 06-24. Services included:
• Jurisdictional wetland delineation
• Environmental resource permitting assistance (State, Federal)
Port Orange Wellfield
BCS established the wetland monitoring stations in 2006 for compliance with the City’s consumptive use permit (CUP) and coordinated the installation of the shallow monitoring wells. BCS conducts the water level monitoring and reporting required for compliance with the CUP. Services include:
• Wellfield hydrological monitoring and reporting for compliance with CUP
• Wetland vegetation monitoring
Hawks Park Recreational Complex
This City of Edgewater project is a recreational complex. Services included:
• Protected species transect surveys
• Scrub Jay surveys and US Fish and Wildlife Service coordination
• Scrub Jay demographic study
• Prescribed burn assistance for maintenance of the scrub jay habitat
• Gopher tortoise burrow surveys
• Gopher tortoise relocation permitting
• Supervised the backhoe excavation of burrows and off-site relocation of gopher tortoises
Wallschlaeger Parcel C / I-4 Borrow Pit
This 162± site in Daytona Beach included a 45± acre borrow pit. Services included:
• Jurisdictional wetland delineation (162 acres)
• Environmental resource permitting assistance (State, Federal, Volusia County)
• Seasonal high water elevation determinations
• Protected species transect surveys
• Gopher tortoise burrow surveys
• Gopher tortoise relocation permitting
• Supervised the backhoe excavation of burrows and off-site relocation of gopher tortoises
Bouchelle Island
This is a multi-family condominium community that has 6,011 linear feet of shoreline along the Intracoastal Waterway and Callalisa Creek in New Smyrna Beach. Services included:
• Permitted mangrove trimming of 3,812 linear feet of mangroves along the shoreline
• Mangrove trimming
Flagler County Airport Runway
This Flagler County Airport project was for improvements to the Runway Safety Areas (RSA) and Runway Object Free Areas (ROFA) of Runway 06-24. Services included:
